Technology Background

Company founder Ellen Cusato Messer has spent her career working with engineers and other technology professionals to translate technical concepts into marketing campaigns. Ellen worked at Nortel for 13 years in senior wireless product management and product marketing roles, leaving to do freelance marketing while raising children. She began working with technology and engineering companies, launching Messer Strategies in 2003. The company was rebranded as TechTalk Marketing in 2023 to better align with her technical marketing specialization.

Ellen holds a BBA in marketing (with product management specialization) from Texas A&M University, and a Master of Science in telecommunications from Southern Methodist University. This blend of marketing and technical education helps the TechTalk project team connect with clients on both the business and technology fronts to develop more effective strategies.

Proprietary Methods

Over decades of working with companies ranging from global telecommunications giants to mid-sized engineering firms to smaller companies, Ellen noticed specific patterns that led to both success and failure in generating leads and winning ideal clients. Using these patterns, she developed a proprietary, step-by-step system for helping clients identify, attract and win their ideal customers.

Concrete Deliverables

While working as a product manager, Ellen developed a belief in the importance of requirements definition and repeatable processes. TechTalk develops requirements for each project, and creates a project plan that includes deliverables, schedule and budget.
